Valuations

How do I report Valuation Data for ASIC?

Leverage our reporting tools and our UI to ensure that you are fulfilling your Valuation reporting requirement.

ASIC requires that all Valuations are required to be submitted on a T+2 basis. We'd recommend however to still report on T+1 if possible to leave time to sort out any issues that may arise.

KOR suggests the following steps to do each business day:

  1. Run the Valuations left to submit today Report to identify which UTIs need valuation reported
  2. Submit valuation messages for each of the UTIs
  3. Check the Rejections UI and/or reports to check for failures and resubmit any that were rejected
  4. Re-run the Valuations left to submit today Report to identify any missed valuations
  5. Repeat until the report does not return any UTIs.

The user should also periodically run the Missing Valuations Report to verify no valuation reports were missed, and if they were submit the missing messages with the missed valuation date.

Valuation data is only recorded as reported when the message has passed all TR validations.

NOTE: this report is to assist Clients in their reporting process, it should not substitute Clients identifying and tracking open swaps to report valuations on in their internal systems.

If my valuation on a trade does not change day over day do I still have to report daily?

For ease of verifying no valuations reports are missing, KOR recommends reporting every dat. Even if the valuation amount has not changed, the valuation should be re-reported with the new valuation date. Valuations with the same values but different dates are not considered to be duplicates.

Guidance:

560. A valuation report is made whenever there is a change to the last reported valuation. We expect that reporting entities will perform valuations of their outstanding OTC derivatives on a daily basis, and therefore make valuation reports on a daily basis.

561. However, if a reporting entity’s valuations are ordinarily performed less frequently than daily, valuation reports are made according to the frequency of the actual valuations.
